12 Days at Silver Bells House by Jennie Jones

Escaping to the country, Kate has twelve days to find herself. The last thing she expects is to find an attractive yet uncommunicative man living in her holiday home. Can the enchanting Silver Bells House and a community dripping in holiday spirit bind Kate and Jamie together? Or will love get lost on the highway back to the city?

Her Christmas Kisses by Susanne Bellamy

Stranded in Rainbow Cove with no car, no work and no prospect of saving her family’s restaurant, Flick needs a Christmas miracle. It may have been his car that put her in this mess but Xander, luxury resort owner, might just be the solution Flick is looking for-if only Flick and Xander can ignore the undeniable spark between them.

Naughty or Nice by Lauren K. McKellar

Claire wants one thing this Christmas: to land the big promotion at work and finally dispel the office gossip. ‘Nice guy’ Hamish has his own reasons for wanting that same promotion. The last thing either of them needs is an office fling. Their naughty games could ruin everything, but are Hamish and Claire about to discover what it truly means to win?

Christmas in Ghost Gum Springs by Nicole Flockton

A lover of all things Christmas, publican Connor is determined to bring Christmas spirit to the small town of Ghost Gum Springs. He’s ready to take on the grinchiest of Scrooges-even the unhappy American girl staying at the pub who would obviously rather be anywhere else. He just didn’t expect Scrooge to be quite so attractive …

Tinsel in a Tangle by Ainslie Paton

It’s Shelby’s job to make sure the office Christmas party is a success. She didn’t think she needed to worry about the shy new guy, her inappropriate crush, ending up in the emergency room after decking one of their colleagues. But since Shelby’s New Year’s resolution is to go after what she wants, maybe there’s still a chance this season will be jolly.

Review:

Christmas with a distinct Australian flavour comes courtesy of the five different romance themed stories in Christmas Among the Gum Trees, a 2020 special edition Harlequin Mira publication. With plenty of heart, emotion, love trysts, drama and laughs, this festive collection is a must read this holiday period.

Romance is on the cards in each of the five engaging stories featured in Christmas Among the Gum Trees. Opening the collection is 2014 release, 12 days at Silver Bells House by Jennie Jones. A story of escape, choices, freedom, chance, community and lost love defines this delightful small-town tale. As a fan of Jennie Jones, I loved the chance to revisit this author’s writing. The second offering in this bind up edition is Her Christmas Kisses by Susanne Bellamy, published in 2019. Bellamy issues her readers with a truly heartwarming tale of Christmas miracles, financial pressures, tough decisions and irrefutable attraction. Third in line is Naughty or Nice by Lauren K. McKellar, first published in 2019. McKellar turns up the heat with her Christmas tale, which sees her male and female lead battle it out in romance and career stakes. With plenty of high tension and a dash of trouble in romance department defining this daring story, Christmas with a naughty twist is on the menu. The fourth story in Christmas Among the Gum Trees is Nicole Flockton’s Christmas in Ghost Gum Springs. First published in 2018, Nicole Flockton’s festive presentation takes the reader right into the heart of the gentle small outback town of Ghost Gum Springs. In this reminder of the true spirit of Christmas, love calls for two unlikely souls, with differing views on the holiday season.  This one will send you heart aflutter as the hero and heroine work to a memorable happy ever after. The final Christmas romance narrative in this special collection is Tinsel in a Tangle by Ainslie Paton. With simmering attraction, workplace complications, an injury, careful plans, inappropriate feelings and resolutions leading the way, Ainslie Paton’s yarn proved to be a great page turner. With a cracking title and appealing characters expressing realistic emotions, this was the perfect story to close the Aussie Christmas festivities. If you are searching for a holiday escape this Christmas and New Year period, the stories carefully selected by the Harlequin Australia team in this yuletide bind up will send a little magic your way.
