I’m looking forward to collaborating again with my two of my favourite bloggers, Theresa Smith Writes and The Book Muse in 2019, for another round of a very fun book related challenge. This is the second year we have worked together on a personalised Book Bingo card game and we would love to share it with you all. Without further adieu, Book Bingo 2019 officially launches today!
So how does it work? This Saturday marks the launch of our latest Book Bingo card plan. Each Saturday, on a fortnightly basis, beginning on Saturday 5th January 2019, Ashleigh, Theresa and I will complete a book review post, outlining our respective bingo card entries. The Book Bingo 2019 card contains a total of 30 squares, which we will complete over the course of the year, with the aim to complete the whole card by the end of December. Two of the Book Bingo entries this year will be flexible, so that means it is completely down us as to when we post these entries, to ensure all 30 are ticked off by the end of the year. Do keep an eye out on our respective blog sites for our bonus round entries! To keep things interesting for ourselves and those following along with us, the choice of bingo square to be covered will be entirely down to us, there is no crossover – that is planned anyway! However, as Ashleigh, Theresa and I enjoy similar books, especially books by Australian women writers, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we end up with more than one book double up, as was the case in 2018!

Oh, this bingo card looks so good and interesting but I don’t think I’ll be able to join in as Steven and I will be on holidays for nearly half of the year. And I must concentrate on that coffee table pile I hope to have all books read by end of next year. And don’t worry I’m still looking forward to our Aussie Male Author Challenge, actually I’m starting on one tonight and at this very moment I’m reading The Summer Garden my first book I can clear off the coffee table pile.

Thiis challenge look so so interesting but seeing I only read 68 books this year it would take half of my total for this year. Sue, I am putting it out there that I am going to concentrate on my TBR piles at home for 2019 and not buy any books at all – well try not to any way. I would love to do this bingo challenge though in the future if it’s still going. Sue, no book fairs for you next year 😉

Lol on no book fairs for me – I totally agree I won’t be attending any as I’ll be far too busy with my two challenges – TBR pile and Aussie male authors and unofficially book bingo. And travelling for half of the year.

Haha yes our TBR challenge will unearth some forgotten and older titles and probably some surprises too. It will be fun to keep up with each other’s choices during the year. I will miss new releases by my favourite authors but they will still be there at the end of the year so will look forward to them then. It will be hard, but if I don’t start now I never will and I know I have some great books on my shelf waiting to be read. Enjoy your travelling, where are you headed?

Janine, I’ve had books on my coffee table for two years now it started with 50 books but has accumulated to 70 as a friend gave me many James Patterson books and I had no room for them on my bookshelf so they landed on my coffee table TBR pile, I’m determined to have them read by the end of the year, two years looking at them is enough, lol. And yes some very old titles on this pile that finally need to be read. And a reason for not participating in this years book bingo challenge is that I have missed reading new releases by two of my favourite authors when usually I read their books as soon as I have them in my hand. So doing it unofficially is great because if I don’t have time for it I can abandon it.
Thanks Janine, the 2nd week of April we’re taking our daughter to the outback for two weeks as she wants to experience inland NSW, so we’re taking her to Bourke and Lightning Ridge and day trips to Cobar and Hebel. May and June we’re thinking of traveling north maybe spend a month in Brisbane as we’ve never looked around that area or surrounding towns and a month of taking our time coming back home staying in different places here and there. And hubby is also on holidays in September, October and November we’re not sure where we are headed yet – a toss up between the Nullarbor heading to Perth or traveling along The Great Ocean Road to Mt Gambier, Adelaide and Port Augusta and if time permits we’ll keep following the ocean until we reach Margaret River or just touring all of South Australia, not sure yet as that time of year is still too cold for me to head anywhere south.
