It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 8/5/17

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Book Date .This meme is a great opportunity for book bloggers to showcase their ‘book-ish’ habits for the week. It is a good forum to share books read in the past week, current reads and upcoming reads. It is also a fantastic way to connect with fellow bookworms and add some books to your reading wishlist. Thanks for hosting Book Date!

I kick started the week today with a beautiful walk along our stunning local coastline, again we are blessed with another warm autumn week.

Last week also marked the first author event I attended for 2017, which was Perth based writer Sara Foster, in conversation at a bookshop of the outskirts of Perth. It was a great night and of course I was very tempted to immediately read the book Sara was promoting – unfortunately my review books are calling instead!

This week my reading was just an average one. I’m not really sure why! I completed three books and welcomed in some review books, as well as some lucky giveaway wins. I published three reviews over the past week. If you would like to catch up on any of these I will leave the links below.

Champagne for Breakfast by Maggie Christensen (4 stars)

My Sister’s Bones by Nuala Ellwood (3.5 stars)

The Cedar Cutter by Tea Cooper ( 4 stars)

Here is my reading breakdown for the week. Feel free to comment away! Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely week!

  1. I love Liane Moriarty’s books but haven’t read the two you mentioned. Glad you were able to go to the author visit. It is hard to balance review books with other books you want to read sometimes. I often bring home a stack from the library but don’t get to read them because of that. I need to learn to request fewer review books!

Hope you have a great week!

  2. I love author events but haven’t been to any in a while. Most are an hour or two away and I just couldn’t afford the time out of my schedule to attend, Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  3. The Hidden Hours looks good…and I loved those Liane Moriarty books. After first reading The Husband’s Secret and then Big Little Lies, I plucked a few off of her back list, and was happy to do so.

Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  4. Looks like a Liane Moriarty splurge! I think I have both those books on my shelf somewhere to read.Looks like a great author event and possibly a thriller type read.

  5. I Let You Go looks haunting and tragic but also suspenseful? I’ve been mulling that one since I’ve seen it around a bit. And I do want to read some of Liane Moriarty’s other books, having enjoyed the most recent three. I need to dig into her back catalog a bit…

Yay for book events! Have a super week… 🙂

  6. I hope one day that Sara Foster comes my way, would love to hear her talk. Maybe one day when Steven and I are in Perth for a long visit you and I could attend an author talk together, Amanda, of course fingers will be crossed there will be one to attend at that time.

Loved Three Wishes and The Last Anniversary – my two favourite’s of hers.
The first three you listed sound interesting going by the cover title.

Enjoy the rest of your week! xoxo

PS. Thanks for replying back on your last Book Date blog. I had to laugh at ‘Mt Everest coming to Wollongong’ – love that! I think it’s already here, it has definitely upgraded from Mt Kosciusko. Lol.
