It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Book Date .This meme is a great opportunity for book bloggers to showcase their ‘book-ish’ habits for the week. It is a good forum to share books read in the past week, current reads and upcoming reads. It is also a fantastic way to connect with fellow bookworms and add some books to your reading wishlist. Thanks for hosting Book Date!

I’m back from my 10th wedding anniversary holiday after missing out on posting last week. We had a great time and I am pleased to say I did get a fair bit of reading time in between sightseeing and lots of shopping! Below is a picture of our trip to Kuala Lumpur.

I also purchased some great books while I was away, taking advantage of the cheaper prices in Malaysia compared to Australia. When arrived home I welcomed some surprise book mail which is always a great feeling! See below for my book acquisitions.

In terms of reviews, I posted two this week. If you wish to catch up on these reviews I will leave the links below.

  2. Your holiday sounds amazing and love the photo. interesting books are cheaper in Malaysia. They are so expensive in our part of the world. I notice that prices at the Book Depository seem more expensive these days as well.
I do have that Liane Moriarty book on my TBR shelf. Don’t know why I am bemoaning the price of books when I have so many still on my shelves!!

    1. Thanks so much Kathryn, we had a great break but it went by so quickly! The photo was taken by our tour guide for the day, we did a walking city history tour while we were in KL.

I found it interesting too that the books prices were cheaper in Malaysia. The smaller format paperbacks anyway. I too have noticed a price rise with the Book Depository. I’m sure I could open my own library with the amount of books I have to read so I also shouldn’t be moaning about the price of books when I have so many available to read on my shelves!

I hope you get to read the Liane Moriarty book soon so we can trade thoughts 🙂

  3. Happy anniversary! Malaysia sounds awesome. And books are cheaper there too? Bonus! I’ve read some Liane Moriarty but not The Hypnotist’s Love Story- that might be my next one as I delve into more of her backlist books.

    1. Thanks for the anniversary wishes Greg, that’s very kind of you.

Malaysia was great but it was a very quick visit (6 days) we still managed to pack a lot in.

I was thrilled the books were cheaper, my case was pretty heavy on the way back home!

Glad to hear you like Liane Moriarty’s work too. I highly recommend The Hypnotist’s Love Story, not quite as good as Big Little Lies but still a good one.

      Have a fantastic week!

  4. Love your Kuala Lumpur photo, it’s gorgeous. So glad you had a great time. So many new books and not one is familiar, can’t wait for your thoughts on them and then I’ll know if to add them to my monster pile.
Love Liane Moriarty’s books – what an author!

  5. Glad you liked the one and only photo I have posted of KL so far. Must get the rest up at some stage!
Wow, sounds like I have introduced you to a few more titles that may or may not end up on the coffee table pile :-)!
I agree – love Liane Moriarty’s work. The Hypnotist’s Love story thoroughly entertained me during my plane ride home so it has my vote!
