It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 12/12/16

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Book Date .This meme is a great opportunity for book bloggers to showcase their ‘book-ish’ habits for the week. It is a good forum to share books read in the past week, current reads and upcoming reads. It is also a fantastic way to connect with fellow bookworms and add some books to your reading wishlist. Thanks for hosting Book Date!

The summer school holiday break is so close, only one more work day to go for me and I can’t wait. In fact, it already feels like the holidays have started as my son finished school for the year on Friday. I have many plans for the holidays including dusting off the rest of my xmas shopping, a spot of camping, catching up with friends over the barbecue and of course lots of reading/reviewing! I hope you all have been successful in your christmas shopping pursuits and have some lovely festive things planned. I would love to hear about them!

Okay, onto my reading journey for the week. So I had a positive reading week, four books were polished off. I put this down to work winding up for the year and a few extra uninterrupted reading sessions – one of which was accompanying my Mum on a long medical appointment.  On the reviewing front, I published two reviews over the past week. If you are interested in catching up on these I’ll post the links below.

Tapestry by Fiona McIntosh (4.5 stars)

Here is my reading breakdown for the week. If you are reading this, I greatly appreciate you stopping by my blog. I always welcome comments, so please feel free to connect with me. Otherwise, have a fabulous week! Mrs B 🙂

  1. Thanks for stopping by Casey. I’m keen to get started on Sapphire Falls. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed Emerald Springs, I did too. Fleur is an author who just seems to get better with every book she releases. Blue Skies is a good one to read if you enjoy her work 🙂

  2. I love the look of Tapestry…the name “Fiona” is a favorite of mine, since one of my granddaughters has that name. Her last name also starts with “Mc”. LOL.

Keep You Close is on my list, too; I enjoyed another book by the author.

Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

    1. I agree Tapestry has such a gorgeous cover Laurel. It is a lovely story inside too. Fiona is a lovely name. Funny that your granddaughter shares the same name even down to the Mc!

I hope you enjoy Keep You Close, it was a just ok read for me. I am willing to try more from the author though.

Have a great week and thanks for visiting!

  3. Oh so good for you to be nearing the holidays. Isn’t that summer break the best. And relaxing camping days coming up very nice. Some great reading accomplished, loved your review of The War Bride. I really liked it and look forward to her new one coming up. I have Deception Island on my radar as I saw a good review for it from NIse. Happy nearly holidays!

Thanks for reading my review of The War Bride. I’m looking forward to Pamela’s next book too.

Deception Island was a solid read. I will have to check out the good review by NIse.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  4. These all are new to me. Our Christmas break is only one week long. I lose two days of it traveling home and back. It seems like I barely arrive before it is time to turn around and come back to work. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. Hi Kathy, thanks for popping past this week.

It’s good to hear the books I have included this week are all new ones to you, it makes the sharing journey around the blogs well worth it 🙂

Wow – your Christmas break sounds jam packed! I’m sure the trek there are back will be worth it to return home for the short holiday break.

Have a lovely week and I’ll be heading over to your blog very soon.

      Amanda 🙂

    1. Hi Greg, thanks for visiting this week 🙂

Yes I was more than pleased to knock off four books this week!

I’m really keen to get into our summer holidays – it’s 6 week break, only one more work day to go! Then it will be plenty of bbq’s, camping and time by the pool reading!

I am actually jealous that you have snow your way. It never really feels that festive over here when it is so hot!

Deception Island was a solid read thanks!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  6. Camping, BBQs and reading sounds divine! Good luck with the Christmas shopping – probably my least favourite Christmas activity however planning and giving is always awesome.

I keep seeing Sapphire Falls around and hope you enjoy it. I like the cover. 🙂

    Have a great week!

  7. We don’t have anything festive planned this year as hubby is working over Christmas, we might have christmas lunch with our daughter and son-in-law before he has to go off to work. Working night shift isn’t much fun as he misses out on so many things but it’s been that way for nearly 40 years. I don’t mind having the house to myself I can gets lots of reading in and for sure I’ll watch a christmas movie. Your holiday break sounds supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! LOL! Enjoy your wonderful Summer school holidays, read lots and be merry. Hehehe.

There’s heaps of books there I don’t know except for Fiona’s, Fleur’s and Vanessa’s. Of the books I haven’t heard of I think I’ll add Deception Island and will wait for your reviews to add anything else.

I’m reading three books at the moment as soon as I’m finished here I’ll get stuck into reading for a few hours.

Just to let you know I’ve replied back to you on the 5/12 Book Date and on Tapestry.

  8. That’s a shame to hear you hubby is working over the xmas period. Lunch with your daughter and son in law sounds nice, I hope you enjoy the time together.

I think I would enjoy the house to myself too if I had the chance – it is always so busy here with the boys running around. I would love some quiet reading time to myself. A Christmas movie sounds perfect. Do you have a favourite? My husband and I love to watch National Lampoons Christmas every year!

Well I’m now into my break, it feels good, though the plans of a sleep in haven’t quite happened! I’ve already started reading much more, I can’t wait to get stuck into my books and I have so many I want to read!

Glad to hear some of my books caught your eye. I do love Fiona, Fleur and I just adored Vanessa’s book. Deception Island was just a three star read for me, I hope to post a review soon.

Wow three books on the go – you are good at multitasking! two books at the same time really throws me! I hope you had a fruitful reading week!

I’ve replied to your Tapestry comment and Florentine Bridge 🙂 xx
