It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Book Date .This meme is a great opportunity for book bloggers to showcase their ‘book-ish’ habits for the week. It is a good forum to share books read in the past week, current reads and upcoming reads. It is also a fantastic way to connect with fellow bookworms and add some books to your reading wishlist. Thanks for hosting Book Date!

October draws to a close today and as I reflect on the month that was, I feel that it was very fruitful reading, reviewing, blogging and author event month. I’m looking forward to welcoming in November. I’m hoping for some warmer weather and perhaps some poolside reading is on the horizon if spring would only just show itself to us here in Perth! November is a busy one author/book event wise for me. I have five events to attend, I kick the first one off next Monday. This is a lunch/author talk for a cookery book, which is something a little different for me, nevertheless I am really looking forward to a yummy lunch!

Onto the all important reading round-up for this week. Surprisingly I completed four books this week! I am on top of my reviews, with only one now due at the start of December. It feels good to get the chance to turn to my TBR pile (which I am adding to by the day with all the great new releases out) and make a decent dent in my bookshelves. This week I reviewed three books on my blog and one extra just on Goodreads. If you are interested in catching up on any of my reviews you can find the links below:

Daughters of Castle Deverill by Santa Montefiore, a book review for Beauty and Lace (3.5 stars)

It Was Only Ever You by Kate Kerrigan, a book review for Beauty and Lace (5 stars)

Never Never by James Patterson and Candice Fox (3.5 stars)

Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris, a Goodreads review (3.5 stars)

Below is a breakdown of my reading habits for the week. I always very much welcome thoughts or comments on my books. If you are reading this, I thank you for taking to time to visit my blog. Happy Halloween! Mrs B  halloween-2halloween-1

  1. Nice that you have some bookish events lined up! That’s always nice. And good luck with the spring weather, we’re just starting to get cooler here so I’m glad somebody is going into warm weather. 🙂 Behind Closed Doors I think I saw a good review for.

Scared to Death looks fun, love that cover!

    1. Thanks for stopping in Greg, I hope your week is going well so far. It looks good on the weather front here – a nice warm one tomorrow and I’m off to the zoo with my class on a trip!

Behind Closed Doors was a good read, sent chills down my spine! I’m keen to get into Scared to Death, I love that cover too!

  2. I loved the Natasha Lester book and I’ll be looking forward to what she comes up with next. Can’t believe the warm weather has not got going in Perth, I am sure it will kick in very soon though!

    1. I agree Kathryn. I loved A Kiss from Mr Fitzgerald, i’m about to start work on my review. It is one of those books that is so good I can’t seem to find the right words for my review! I spoke too soon about the weather, tomorrow will be 29 and I’m off on a class trip to the zoo with my Kindy class! We just seem to having one warm day and then back to cold again at the moment! I hope the weather is better in NZ 🙂

  3. I agree with you, Amanda. Some decent spring weather would be very welcome. Winter just won’t go away. I can’t believe we had snow yesterday here in Victoria!
Some great titles read over the last week and it looks like you have a great line up for November. Enjoy your books and author events.

  4. Hi Yvonne, I hope you are well and your week is going well so far. Sounds like you are experiencing the same as me weather wise. I’m over feeling cold! I can’t believe you had snow in Vic, I shouldn’t complain about the cold, at least it isn’t snowing here!
Thank you for taking the time to check out my titles, so many great ones were released over the last week! It made a big dent in my purse! I just need some time to get into them all now!
I hope you have a lovely week reading wise 🙂

  5. Four books this past week Amanda, well done. Three is usually pretty average for me and I have trouble keeping up with the reviews if I go much over that. Though – as you now – I’m now a proud Netflix devotee so my reading may drop for a while! 🙂

  6. Oh, how I wish we were waiting for spring, instead of dreading the coming of winter! Though I can’t complain, I live in a very temperate climate – on the rare occasions that we get snow here, the entire city shuts down, and we all run around bemoaning the “snowpocalypse” (we have very creative local newspapers….) 😉

  7. It’s so funny to read about you looking forward to pool weather when we are pulling out the winter coats and scarfs here in New Jersey!

Beyond the Orchard looks interesting. I hope you enjoy all of those new books!
